Excellent midlayer for active people.
I wanted something to wear that was cooler than down and warmer than just a lightweight fleece. This jacket works well.
I use this jacket when cycling because it has pit zip ventilation and has enough thinsulate to ride in 40+ degree weather with just a thin synthetic baselayer. I also put a TNF hyvent shell over the top and can take it skiing or on an extended winter camping trip.
If I wear a fleece base layer this golite cady plus a shell I can be comfortable down to about 20 degrees (as long as I am active).
By itself it is wind and water resistant. In a lite sprinkle this will keep you warm and dry however in a down pour it's gonna soak through. ALthough I haven't tested it it is supposed to retain some warmth when wet.
It comes with a stuff sack and when packed is about the size of a 32oz Nalgene bottle. It has two really nice fleece lined hand pockets. Inside has a zip pocket on the left chest for sunglasses (i stick the stuff sack in it) and an inside right side pocket for larger items.
Durability is hard to say as I have only used it for a month. I expect it to hold up as long as I wear a shell when doing any potentially damaging activity.
The fleece at the collar is nice and the zipper has an overlap so as not to rub your neck or chin when fully zipped.
I am 5'11 and 160lbs. The Medium fits perfectly.

Great for lightweight travel/backpacking
I bought this jacket with warmth and weight in mind for backpacking and I was not disappointed. The jacket is a great fit - I usually wear a medium or sz. 8-10 jacket and I bought a med. It's roomy enough to wear over other layers without being baggy. It's a flattering fit too and long enough in the arms. The best feature about this jacket is how lightweight it is and its compactability. The 10 oz. squeezes down into a Granite Gear Air Bag (#2 - 5 x 11.25 in) that I bought from REI which then fits into on of the side pouches on my backpack. This is also great for travel - and converts into a nice pillow on the airplane. I love the green too and have had lots of compliments.

My Wife Loved It
This is a wonderfully made and tailored product. It is extremely light and can be packed away for travel in a small carry on. It is made of very durable mountaineering material with a beautiful soft hand and color. It's totally water and wind proof and the hood can be removed to dress it up. If you buy this coat for a cold climate it should be noted that it has no lining. It is only a wind and rain shell. You will need a sweater or down shell under it to keep warm when cold. Note that this is breathing water proof material so it's a great rain coat in a warm climate as well. It's now her main travel coat.

My new favorite brand
I was a North Face addict but after trying the HH gear I am a convert. Some of the most well thought out designs and excellent construction.

Best city jacket I have ever owned.
This jacket is lightweight somewhat packable and blocks the wind. Where it falls short is that when the wind is a bit crisp and damp the jacket would need an additional layer below it or else you will be able to feel the shell get cold.
In a light rain it works great no leaks.
Excellent quality material and the zippers look/feel like they will last the life of the jacket.
I highly recommend this jacket to all my fellow city rats and bicyclists/walkers.

All around good jacket
When I bought this softshell I hadn't done my homework. I was expecting it to be heavier. But after a week or so I started to really love this jacket. It sheds water reasonably well and is pretty breathable. The only thing I would like on it now is pit zips to help vent a little better. Marmot doesn't make a light weight (M3) fleece with pit zips. Over all this is great for mild aerobic activity in mild climates or heavier activity in colder climates. I'll be taking it to Denali for a backpacking trip in the summer for sure. One side note the "Rum" colored jacket looks more like burnt orange whereas the picture makes it look brown... but I'm no runway model so it will do. Overall very good product.

Wow! This is great warm fleece and a fantastic product...
I purchased this fleece for both my wife and I based upon my review of a myriad prior reviews. We have both been amazed at how incredibly warm and flexible this fleece has been. We have worn them in howling wind rain and a range of chilly conditions. Compared to other fleece we've each had the Patagonia LW is warmer by at least half again. This purchase was a significant outlay but I had tired of being disappointed by several fleece purchases that performed poorly. If warmth breathability windblocking attractive comfortable fleece is what you're looking for you can't do better!

Great Jacket
This jacket is extremely water repellent it is hydrophillic or whatever I ran my faucet on the coat and it want even feel wet. The jacket is very light and form fitting the outer layer feels a little rubbery but it is lined with soft fabric. This jacket has great features The only major negative thing I have found is that what is considered BLACK for this jacket is really just a dark gray but not even a real dark grey but it still looks great I just wish it was pitch black.
The jacket will keep you warm all year in the south if you wear a hoodie I am very satisfied with this product and thought the sale price was great. this jacket is a bonafide protector of human body against moderate conditions of snow and rain.

Marmot Zeus Jacket
I purchased this jacket for travel rather than hiking/camping so read on with that caveat. My general size is a medium with a 32" sleeve; that size also fits fine with the Zeus with enough room for a light layer underneath if needed. While it lofts very well it doesn't make you look like a puffy Michelin Man. Although it isn't matte it isn't terribly shiny at least in the Twilight blue color. It has two outside zipped pockets and two deep unzipped storage pockets inside. The collar is a little high but I don't find it to be a problem. I travel to Europe several times a year and on the night leg of the flight usually freeze from the overhead vents that always seem to be on full blast near me. I chill easily so this jacket is a handy companion with variable cool weather as well. It weighs virtually nothing and can be compressed to a small light size that's easy on the carry on space and in a pinch can be used as a pillow. Marmot states that it can be compressed into its own pocket but that point seems to elude me and I simply roll it into a tight cylinder that will fit into a nylon mesh bag. It's made of a silky feeling material that is very comfortable but some care would be needed for outside activities to prevent rips from branches and the like. I don't know how it would fare in the rain since I use a light shell for that purpose although it should be OK for light duty. It has a very high fill power down and light covering so although the weight is reduced it is very effective; to me it's much warmer and lighter than the fleece it's replacing. Less expensive jackets can easily be found but for the meticulous attention to detail and quality this is money well spent. I have a Marmot rain shell and for the have found it to be equally well constructed light weight and useful. Dry cleaning is NOT recommended since that damages the delicate down's lofting ability; hand washing with the appropriate cleaning material is suggested.
I just weighed it on the digital office scale and it weighs 15.1 ounces fully lofted.

Light weight and warm
I recently purchased a Isis carpi pant from Amazon was very impress with the quality so when I saw this jacket on sale I order it right away. I am a size 6 but since this is a outer jacket I decided to order size 8 so I can have room to put more cloths on if needed. I am glad I did! I tried it on with a T-shirt and it was snug so order a size larger if you want to make sure it will fit you. Since it's nice and warm I don't have to worry about unable to put more cloths under it. I purchased Waterflower Haze what a beautiful design I am glad I did.
